ROSEMOUNT (WCCO) — Each week, we like to say thanks to school organizations that are giving back to the community.
In this week’s Community Spotlight, the 5th graders at Shannon Park Elementary in Rosemount are sending the message: Giving to others makes you feel good.
For their fall party, they raised money to buy fabric for making blankets. Then, they started cranking them out.
The finished blankets then go to children’s hospitals, homeless shelters and other places in need around Minnesota.
That’s why WCCO-TV is saying thanks with our $500 Community Spotlight award. Sieben, Grose, von Holtum and Carey helped with the award.
If you’d like to nominate someone for the Community Spotlight Award, you can make a nomination here.
