An MRI revealed Mbakwe tore his ACL in the Gophers’ loss to Dayton Sunday night in the Old Spice Classic. He will miss the rest of the season, but is it the end of his college basketball career? He is on pace to graduate in two weeks from the University of Minnesota, but he wants to decide by May if he wants to return to school or turn professional.
There are sponsors who are concerned about the fans at Gopher football games, or lack thereof. Especially the fact that the student section at TCF Bank Stadium rarely fills up.
