MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man found dead in the St. Croix River near Bayport on Saturday drowned while fishing, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Ronald Bringgold, 46 of White Bear Lake, was found at about 5:50 p.m. Saturday after the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an unoccupied boat moving in circles in the St. Croix River. When authorities arrived, the 16 foot boat was anchored but idling in circles.
Authorities said Bringgold has been fishing alone in the boat before his body was discovered floating near the short. The Washington County Medical Examiner says he died from drowning.
