For the last year or so, Syria has been one of the last places you’d want to be in. It may not be as bad as North Korea, which is always the last place you want to be, but it’s pretty bad.
Syrian authorities take pop shots at protesters in the streets, and more than 1,000 protesters have died in the past several months. It’s bad.
To make matters worse, there are now U.N. reports saying that authorities have taken to torturing children, detaining them arbitrarily and mutilating their bodies.
Let’s just hope that the Arab League’s pressure on Syria gets things moving in a better direction. As of now, it seems things might get worse before they get better.
