MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A young basketball star from Elysian, Minn. will be competing on a world stage.
This summer, Rose Hollermann will be on the women’s wheelchair basketball team. She’ll compete in the London Paralympics with Team USA as they fight for their third straight gold medal.
When she was 5 years old, a car accident left Hollermann with a spinal cord injury. Now, at just 16, she is the youngest player ever selected for the team.
“There is always like something that you can figure out to do that will like change your life and help you, people just need to stop saying cant and start saying can,” said Hollerman.
After the Paralympics, Hollermann has her eyes set on college ball, then a professional career in Europe.
She hopes to play for team USA in several more Paralympics.
