MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Mark Zengerle provided the offense and Joel Rumpel the defense as Wisconsin routed front-running Minnesota 4-1 on Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Zengerle had a goal and three assists for the Badgers (16-15-2, 11-14-2), who extended their winning streak to a season-best four games. The Badgers scored three times in the second period.
Zengerle and Michael Mersch had power-play goals for Wisconsin
Rumpel made 26 saves with a high of 10 in the second period.
Nico Sacchetti scored the only goal for the Golden Gophers (23-12-1, 19-8-0) in the third period.
Kent Patterson and Michael Shibrowski combined for 16 saves for Minnesota.
