MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead after a shooting early Saturday morning at a downtown Minneapolis hotel, according to Minneapolis Police.
Authorities said the incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. at the Millennium hotel, which is on Nicollet Mall near 13th Avenue. When officers got to the scene, they found an adult male who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting happened inside the hotel, police aren’t saying at this time if it happened inside a room.

“It happened on one of the upper floors of the hotel,” said Sgt. Stephen McCarty with Minneapolis Police.
Police learned that the suspect fled the scene after the shooting and was at a nearby hotel. Police said the suspect, an adult male, was found across the street at the Hyatt Hotel. Officers found the suspect and took him into custody without incident.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim yet. The incident, including what led up to the shooting, is still under investigation.
