MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The 10-year-old girl who went missing Sunday morning has been found and reunited with her family, Minneapolis police said.
Police said Namo Abdinur Ahmed was found just before 6 p.m. after staff at the Children’s Hospital of Minneapolis called saying a child matching her description walked into the emergency room.
Police responded to the call and confirmed that the child was indeed Ahmed.
Ahmed was reported missing around 10 a.m. after she failed to show up for religion class. She went missing near Lake Street and Pillsbury Avenue South, which is more than 10 block away from the hospital.
Foul play is not suspected, police said. But they are still investigating to determine where exactly Ahmed was and what she was doing during the eight hours she was missing.
Police said several concerned people called saying they’d seen Ahmed; police thanked the community for responding so quickly.
